Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySusan Lea Hore
It is with heartfelt remembrance which we announce the passing of Susan Hore, on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
A truly loved mother, partner, sister, and friend, Susan will be remembered by her husband and best friend Tim; daughter Sydney (grandchildren Rosalie and Peyton); son Graeme; daughter Ali; mother Marion Prior; sister Lynn Prior (John); brother Gordon Prior (Andrée); brother-in-law Tom Hall (Donna); and her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Thomas Prior; and her sister Karin Prior.
Growing up in Lively, ON, spending her summers at her family camp in McGregor Bay and later working at Junior Ranger camp stoked her early love for the outdoors and an active lifestyle. As a kid, after-school walks to the ski-hill to train for a downhill race turned into annual family ski-trips as an adult, and later cross-country skiing on the farm. On any day, you could usually find Susan out in her garden, kayaking on the river, or hiking and foraging in the bush.
In addition to her passion for the outdoors, Susan’s love of animals and empathetic nature led her to gain a degree in veterinary medicine at Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, ON, where she practiced in many clinics – including Glenboro – before opening her own homeopathic practice. Her deep-seated care for the environment and all living things translated into her lifelong practice of healing.
An avid community member, Susan also spent her time volunteering for the Wawanesa Express paper, as a part of the Wawanesa Women’s Group, and stepping in to accompany the Wawanesa United Church choir on occasion. Her creativity, musicality, and jovial spirit resulted in many curated jingles for birthdays, anniversaries, or going away parties over the years. Of the many things we will miss, her curiosity, imagination, creativity and compassion will be forever cherished.
A Celebration of Susan’s life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Wawanesa Community Hall.
